Mecklenburg Newsletter - December 2011

The CAET program in Mecklenburg received support from the Runway 5K event held at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in the amount of $40,046.54!!!!  LIFESPAN has a wonderful partnership with the airport team and is grateful for their support of our mission.  Thanks to everyone who helped to promote the event or participated in the event last October.

Every week in the “Pass 3 On” segment, WBTV 3's Brigida Mack takes her “Ask me how you can get $300” sign to the streets to find the perfect person to to receive the $300. This week she met with Mrs. Mallory, the parent of a LIFESPAN individual that was recently discharged from the Creative Campus West location due to budget cuts. Even though her son was discharged from the program, she still wanted to show support for LIFESPAN by recommending that LIFESPAN receive the $300. The WBTV camera crew filmed the LIFESPAN Creative Campus-West facility and interviewed Sonya Reid, LIFESPAN’s Residential Services Program Director, who spoke of LIFESPAN’s mission and our dedication to the individuals we support.
