Success Story:

 Lisa Thompson and Bonnie Macauley were asked to participate in “Ray of Joy”, a juried exhibition, being held by the Enrichment Center in Winston Salem for artists with cognitive and physical disabilities across the state of North Carolina.  The deadline for the show was Friday, March, 19 and LifeSpan Arts submitted four pieces from our studio artists, including two mixed media pieces from Lisa Thompson - “S. Lexington” and “The Color of High Country” and two mixed media pieces from Bonnie Macauley - “Dance Party” and “Black Venus”.

The show was juried on March 21 by Lisë C. Swensson, Executive Director of the Hickory Museum of Art (HMA). She has a keen interest and eye for folk and outsider art, which is included in HMA’s extensive collection.   All of the work from LifeSpan Arts was juried into the show.  Lisa’s piece “S. Lexington” took the first prize of $500 and Bonnie’s “Dance Party” took the third prize of $100.

This is such a great accomplishment for the artists and LifeSpan Arts!
