October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), a time to reflect on the value that individuals with disabilities bring to the workforce. At LIFESPAN Services, we are proud to help the individuals we serve find meaningful employment and reach their full potential. Through our Lifeworks program, many of our individuals have successfully found jobs that not only offer a sense of purpose and independence but also help them develop important social skills and grow personally. We deeply appreciate our dedicated Lifeworks coaches, who play a crucial role in guiding and supporting our individuals on their journey toward employment and greater self-sufficiency.
Our LIFESPAN Ambassadors, including job coaches, program managers, direct support professionals, and other dedicated team members, work closely with each individual to ensure they are well-prepared for the workplace. More than just employment, these opportunities help build confidence, develop skills, and foster a sense of community.
Through our services, which span 23 counties in North Carolina, we provide support at every step of the way. Our group homes, Creative Campus day programs for adults, and early learning centers help individuals grow and thrive. Employment is a big part of this, and our Ambassadors play a key role in helping each person reach their career goals.
If you’d like to see the work we do up close, our SOLI/DD START Tours offer a behind-the-scenes look at how we support our individuals on a daily basis. These tours give the community a chance to witness the hard work and dedication that go into making sure our individuals succeed.
This October, as we celebrate NDEAM, we honor the achievements of our individuals who have found success in the workforce. Their accomplishments, along with the commitment of inclusive businesses, show the power of opportunity and support. Let's continue to create workplaces that celebrate everyone’s abilities!
